Gina is a 500-Hour Yoga Teacher. She has an MFA in Dance from UC Irvine, a BA in Dance, Theater, and Film Studies from Manhattanville College, and she has been dancing since she was two. She was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. Gina has been practicing yoga since 2007 when she was introduced to it in a college theater class by Professor Hannah Fox. For the past several years, she has been traveling the US performing at renaissance festivals. All this travel has given her the opportunity to practice yoga from a wide variety of teachers, styles, and lineages (see the "Friends" page to find out where Gina practices and studios and teachers that she recommends, all whom have influenced her practice and teaching, plus many more). Gina received her RYT 500 certification in-person at Heartwood Yoga Institute June 2020, and she is grateful to her teacher training leaders Denver Clark, Ginny and David Shaddock, and Rachel Belle and all of the teachers she has had throughout her life. Gina's yoga teacher mentor is Josie Kramer. Josie is the founder of a yoga center an hour east of San Diego called Vikara Center. Gina works as an Ambassador for Vikara, so reach out if you would like to book a yoga/wellness retreat or if you are interested in learning about work and living opportunities at Vikara. Yoga is an ancient tradition that comes from India, and it is of much importance that we all acknowledge and honor yoga's roots.

Gina's life mottos are "choose joy" and "be here now" and she considers herself a "joy warrior" because it can be tough work. She has a passion for working with kids, and bringing out the inner child in everyone, and plans to become a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher one day. She loves the concept of "beginner's mind" and is a forever student, bringing what she learns and practices herself to her students. She is Reiki level 1 trained, insured, and Mental Health First Aid trained.
